I Want My MP3
Playback Now, a Norcross, Ga. — based company that produces cassettes, CD-ROMs, and videos of conference sessions, has expanded its production services to offer CDs in MP3 format. Using MP3 compression technology, more than 20 hours of audio can fit on a single CD. Compare that to a traditional CD that can only hold 80 minutes of audio. The company has been testing the format with clients for more than a year. It first rolled out the MP3 CDs at Penton Media's fall 2000 Internet World conference, and hasn't looked back. Cassettes and traditional CDs are no longer offered at that show.

The Search Is On
EIBTM, the international meetings expo in Geneva, has put out its call for the latest in event technology solutions. For the third year in a row, the show's WorldWide Watch program is searching for tech developments “most likely to have an influence on the future of the incentive, business travel, and the meetings industry.” What's at stake is exposure. The company whose product is selected by EIBTM's independent panel of judges will be a keynote feature of the May 21 to 23 event at Geneva's Palexpo.
