With funding from General Electric, and in collaboration with Edison Electric Vehicles, Hilton Hotels Corp. has installed electric vehicle charging stations at 13 of its southern California hotels as well as the company's corporate offices in Beverly Hills, Calif. When the service was launched late last year, Magna-Charge inductive chargers were available to EV1 electric vehicle owners arriving at Hilton Hotels in Anaheim, Beverly Hills, Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange County, Ontario, Oxnard, Palm Springs, Pasadena, and Valencia. Since then, Hilton has added more types of chargers at most participating hotels and included its Universal City and LAX Airport properties in the program. Discussions are under way to consider expanding the service into northern California Hiltons.
