In mid-August, the International Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus announced its "intent to enter agreement" with Quincy, Mass.-based Passkey Systems as a preferred provider for convention housing reservations systems. Using the Internet, Passkey (www.passkey.com) provides a
central online database accessible via password to the event organizer, participating hotels and the contracted housing-services agency. Each can obtain status reports on the housing block and pickup in real time. (For more on the housing management system, see TM, July/August, page 18.)
