Meetings Plus Acquired by McGettigan
After 12 years serving the meeting and event management needs of the high-tech businesses of Silicon Valley and San Francisco, Meetings Plus got an offer it couldn't refuse. At press time, McGettigan Partners, a meeting and event management company based in Philadelphia, was finalizing its acquisition of the Lafayette, Calif.-based company.
McGettigan has operated a West Coast office since 1997. This move is intended to solidify its position in the high-growth technology market. Meetings Plus handled 120 meetings last year, 100 percent in the IT industry. Carolyn West, founder and president of Meetings Plus, will head the new entity, to be called McGettigan Meetings Plus. West will report to Christine Duffy, executive vice president of McGettigan.
This is the second aquisition for McGettigan in just over a year. In 1998 the company acquired World Class Incentives in Boston.
