Jeffrey Rasco has left Applied-Theory's office in Austin for a position as senior vice president of meeting and trade show management at JRDaggett & Associates, Chicago. He'll be based in Wimberley, Texas.

Trade show and event production company Contempo Design has named Michelle Carey-Schmidt president of the company's Silicon Valley-based northern California division. Most recently she was group manager-corporate trade shows and events at Sun Microsystems.

Dallas-based AVW Audio Visual has hired Walt Henrickson as sales manager for business in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.

Brian Dye has been named director of sales and marketing for the St. Regis Monarch Beach, opening in July in Dana Point, Calif. Dye joins the St. Regis from the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island, Hawaii.

Brad Magarity has joined the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau as convention sales manager, responsible for high-tech meetings that use the Pennsylvania Convention Center and other venues in the city. Magarity had been with Loews Philadelphia Hotel.

Cyndi Kimmell as been promoted at the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. She will be responsible for selling wireless Internet service to customers using the Dallas Convention Center.

Dayna Zeitlin has been appointed director of sales and marketing at the Omni San Francisco Hotel, which is scheduled to open in December.

Nicholas P. Scriabine has joined Pan Pacific San Francisco as director of group sales. He was most recently the associate director of sales at The Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, Calif.

Roberta Sumner will lead the new West Coast office of The TCI Cos., a Washington, D.C., event management firm. She will be based in San Diego.
