Gaylord on Ice
While they may not see snow, three Gaylord properties in the southern U.S. will become winter wonderlands this winter. The Gaylord Palms, Kissimmee, Fla., the Gaylord Texan, Grapevine, Texas, and the Gaylord Opryland, Nashville, will be transformed into winter landscapes as part of Gaylord Hotels' Ice Attraction, which runs from November through January.
More than 6 million pounds of ice — 2 million at each resort — will be carved into sculptures, monuments, and holiday scenes.
Each indoor attraction will be created by teams of 40 sculptors who will travel from Harbin, China, to chisel away at massive ice blocks.
