Planners: Design and Name This Suite

Here's an opportunity for planners' creative ideas to go down in history, courtesy of Lake Lawn Resort, Delavan, Wis.

It's called the “Name the Suite” contest, and it gives planners the chance to design new hospitality suites at the resort, which is undergoing a $390 million expansion. The contest is open to event planners only, and the winners are those with the best design ideas. The winning entrants will be flown in to work with designers and contractors to create the suites. Also, each suite will be named after the winning meeting planner. Finally, winners receive a free weekend getaway at the resort. There is room for as many as 10 suites in the expansion, so there could be 10 winners.

“The contest has taken off,” says Scott Blakeslee, director of sales and marketing at the resort.

To receive an entry postcard, call (800) 338-5253 or e-mail Jackie Hayes at jhayes@lakelawnresort.com. The deadline is May 15. Construction is expected to begin this summer.
