Don't Re-Key Rooming Lists
Passkey International has a new tool, RoomList Express, that transfers rooming lists between meeting planners and hotels electronically.
The technology lets planners upload their rooming lists to a Web site and then maps the planner's file to the hotel reservation system, allowing the data to be imported.
The Quincy, Mass. — based company's original Passkey product lets attendees book hotel reservations online in the group block, while giving planners and hotels visibility into the bookings. But attendee self-booking is only half the picture — many organizations pass reservation data to the hotel as a rooming list rather than having attendees book themselves. Those lists have to be re-keyed — a chance for errors — and are often transferred as insecure e-mail attachments or faxes.
Approximately 500 hotels (full Passkey licensees) have the new tool.
