Brand New

* Two new hotels are online for Indianapolis, part of the expansion of the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome. A 600-room Marriott is planned across the street from the center's main entrance. The $90 million hotel will include extensive meeting space and will be connected to the center via skywalk. In addition, a 280-suite Adam's Mark Hotel is going up two blocks from the convention center. Both hotels are expected to be completed by June 2000.

* In Philadelphia, the 294-room Hawthorn Suites recently opened. It is located one block from the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

* The Tampa Marriott Waterside, Marriott's first new-construction hotel in Florida in 14 years, is scheduled to open in early 2000. The 717-room hotel will offer 50,000 square feet of meeting space adjacent to the Tampa Convention Center. Ten minutes from Tampa International Airport, the new hotel will feature deco architecture and a palm-lined riverwalk along the Garrison Channel.

* The largest hotel in Texas recently opened with 1,844 rooms, 211 suites, and 230,000 square feet of meeting space. The Adam's Mark Dallas is in the downtown arts and financial district, created from the former Southland Center office complex, the former Harvey Hotel, and a new conference center, all housed under one roof. The conference center features a 60,000-square-foot exhibit hall, five ballrooms, and 60 breakout rooms.
