▪ Georgia International Convention Center
Expansion of this facility, located less than a mile from the Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport in Gateway Center, is expected to be completed in May 2003. Gateway Center development will also include five hotels with 400 rooms, and two office buildings.

▪ Boise Centre on the Grove
Construction is under way on Idaho's largest convention center. Designed to complement the current Boise Centre on the Grove's 87,000 sq. ft., the new building will be approximately 150,000 sq. ft in area, located on 5 acres bordered by Front, Myrtle, 11th, and 13th streets. It should open in late 2003 or early 2004.

▪ Overland Park Convention Center
In the Kansas City area, this $46.5 million center will officially open in December 2002, featuring 237,000 sq. ft. of function space, plus a 25,000-sq.-ft. courtyard. A 412-room Sheraton is connected to the center.

▪ Boston Convention & Exhibition Center
The 1.7-million-sq.-ft., $750 million center is scheduled to be completed in 2004. A 1,200-room headquarters hotel is slated to be built across from the new center.

Michigan
▪ DeVos Place Convention Center, Grand Rapids
Targeted for completion in 2004, the $220 million DeVos Center will be the focal point of the downtown district. It will feature a skywalk system that links it and 12,000-seat Van Andel Arena to nearly 1,000 hotel rooms including a headquarters hotel — the 682-room Amway Grand Plaza — and shopping, dining, and entertainment. The center will have a total area of one million sq. ft. on a 13-acre riverfront site.

Virginia Beach is investing $194 million to more than triple the size of the Virginia Beach Pavilion to 400,000 sq. ft., including meeting and exhibit space to be added in several phases. Groundbreaking will be in April or May 2003 and completion targeted for spring 2005.
