Taylor Takes Association Execs to China Former president and CEO of the American Society of Association Executives, R. William Taylor, CAE, will lead a delegation of association executives to China in May. The trip is organized by People to People International, an organization that promotes international understanding.
Participants will meet with various Chinese associations, including the China Association of Science and Technology (which, despite its name, is an umbrella organization similar to ASAE, Taylor says), to discuss collaboration between American and Chinese associations, and business opportunities for Americans in China. Delegates will also meet with Chinese meeting planners. Taylor, who has never been to China, says the program will be an excellent learning vehicle for American association leaders. "China is going to have a major influence on our country, and we need a better understanding of Chinese associations."
For information, call Kristi Wheeldon, program coordinator, People to People, at (800) 669-7882, ext. 422.
