Making Progress
The first installment of the Accepted Practices Exchange report, which is on terminology, will be unveiled in November, says Mary Power, president of the Convention Industry Council. The second installment, on history/post events, is also slated for release in November, with all industrywide practices to be finalized in late 2005. There are a total of seven panels/topics in the APEX initiative. The CIC also announced it has reached the $1 million mark in its APEX fund-raising efforts. “Successful realization of APEX's full potential will require total funding in the amount of $1.9 million,” Power explains.
The deadline for comments on the “Preliminary Report of the APEX Housing & Registration Panel” is approaching. To comment on the preliminary reports, visit www.conventionindustry.org/apex.
