Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, Conn., recently opened the 34-story, 1,200-room Mohegan Sun Hotel. On the hotel's second floor is the new Elemis Spa, a 20,000-square-foot facility that offers a comprehensive range of treatment rooms, a full-service hair and nail salon, and a fully equipped fitness center. Openings

The recently opened Hyatt Regency Jersey City, Jersey City, N.J., is located on the Hudson River with a stunning view of Manhattan. The 350-room, 16-suite hotel offers high-speed Internet access in each guest room. The hotel's 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and conference facilities include the 5,000-square-foot Manhattan Ballroom and the 8,000-square-foot Hudson Ballroom, which also offers 1,750 square feet of pre-function space. The hotel is 12 miles from Newark International Airport.

The 10-story, 304-room Orlando Marriott Lake Mary recently opened with a total of 11,000 square feet of meeting space, including an 8,400-square-foot ballroom that can seat up to 900 people. Aspen Hotels of Alaska recently opened its newest property, the 63-room Aspen Hotel Soldotna, Soldotna, Alaska. It is the Kenai Peninsula's only hotel with a swimming pool and spa suites. The hotel offers a business center, a meeting and conference room designed to accommodate up to 100 people, and a support staff. Transformations

The Westin Peach-tree Plaza, Atlanta, Ga., recently completed a $30 million renovation. All 1,068 guest rooms and 40 suites were refurbished, as was the hotel lobby. A new dining room was also added. The project included the addition of 13 new meeting rooms that total 20,000 square feet of space, bringing the hotel's function space to more than 75,000 square feet. www.starwoodhotels.com

With the completion of the second phase of its three-tiered, renovation, the 568-room Hotel Inter-Continental Dallas, near the Gallerica, now offers redecorated meeting space and two new meeting rooms, as well as an upgraded lobby and con-cierge area. The hotel's 25,400-square-foot ballroom has been completely refurbished, as have five breakout rooms on the ballroom level. The two new meeting rooms total 1,550 square feet of space, adding to the property's more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space. By September, the hotel's phase three will be complete. Construction recently began on a $250 million expansion of the Hyatt on San Diego Bay. It includes a 33-story, 750-room tower that will feature an additional 86,000 square feet of meeting space. With completion set for summer 2003, the new tower will be connected with the hotel's existing 40-story, 875-room Hyatt. Once complete, the Hyatt will offer more than 120,000 square feet of meeting space and 1,625 guest room, including 90 suites. Mexico's Camino Real Hotels and Resorts has embarked on a $26 million total refurbishment of the 714-room Camino Real Mexico City. All meeting and guest rooms are being completely redesigned. The remodeling project will be completed by the middle of 2003. www.caminoreal.com

In June, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, B.C., Canada, reopened after completing an $18 million renovation. The 644-room hotel now has more than 45,000 square feet of meeting space and the city's only rooftop meeting venues. The Hotel Concorde La Fayette in Paris recently completed an $8 million refurbishment. The 1,000-room hotel offers more than 37,674 square feet of conference facilities.
