A New Outback Experience
Just 40 minutes away by air from one of Australia's most awesome natural attractions, Ayer's Rock, the $10 million Alice Springs Convention Centre is scheduled to open on March 31, just a mile from downtown.
The purpose-built facility will accommodate 1,200 people for theater-style meetings and up to 780 for banquets. It will be equipped with advanced audiovisual and communications technology, and will adjoin the Lasseters Hotel Casino, which is expanding to 140 guest rooms.
The center is within comfortable driving distance of the of spectacular MacDonnell Ranges, as well as 4-wheel drive expeditions on the Finke River, the world's oldest riverbed.
