Lining Up at the Borders The third-annual Beyond Borders Conference will be held April 5 and 6 at the New York Hilton. The event is organized by Adams Business Media, publisher of this magazine and Beyond Borders, a how-to supplement to this magazine that focuses on international planning. Designed to provide planning essentials to those new to holding meetings and incentives outside the U.S., the event also draws experienced planners who want to keep current with the international market.
Martin Kinna, an internationally recognized London-based educator, will kick off the program on Monday afternoon with an interactive discussion about selecting a meeting site.
This content-rich seminar also features sessions on technology, food and beverage management, VAT reclaim tips, risk management, freight and shipping, health and safety abroad, and contract negotiation, among others.
Paula Hill, international marketing director, Adams Business Media, will present the first Global Achievement Awards. This award is given to cities, airlines, convention centers, and hotels outside of the U.S. that have been recognized in an AM reader poll.
Planners of the event are Virginia Lofft, vice president and publishing director, Adams Business Media/Meetings Group; and Ann J. Boehme, president and founder of Meetings and Management Techniques Plus, Valley Stream, N.Y.
The cost for planners to attend Beyond Borders is $275; for suppliers, the registration fee is $395. For registration information, visit our Web site at www.meetingsnet.com. You can also call (516) 561-4223; or fax (516) 872-6397.
