That's a Lot of Coffee
Alcoholics Anonymous International will bring 55,000 attendees to San Antonio in July 2010, making it the largest convention ever booked in the city, according to the San Antonio CVB.
The largest meeting booked previously was the American Dental Association, with 50,000 delegates in October 2007.
“Our ability to win the AA convention is the best example yet of how the expanded and renovated convention center along with the Alamodome has improved the city's ability to attract really large gatherings and the revenue they bring,” says Steve Moore, executive director of SACVB.
SACVB estimates direct delegate expenditures of more than $50 million for the AA convention.
