ASAE Realigns Under Graham

ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership has restructured, naming John Graham as president and chief executive officer of both ASAE and The Center and realigning the staff under him.

Previously, Graham was president and CEO of ASAE while Susan Sarfati was president and CEO of The Center. Sarfati left the organization in September to take a job with the http://meetingsnet.com/associationmeetings/news/safarti_speakers_bureau_office_0819/index.html American Program Bureau. The boards of both ASAE and The Center voted to name Graham to lead both organizations.

The decision to promote Graham created the opportunity for him to reexamine the way ASAE & The Center is organized. “An important outcome of the realignment is to ensure we are maximizing the talents of our staff and putting everyone in a position to contribute meaningfully to our organization’s body of work and to the professional community we serve,” Graham said in a press release.

Effective October 1, a 12-person executive team will report directly to the office of the president and CEO. The executive team represents leaders from 12 departments within the organization, including administration; advertising and sponsorship; advocacy; services; community; knowledge; finance; learning; marketing, communications and branding; meetings and expositions; member relations; and technology.

Also, Susan Robertson, CAE, has been promoted to executive vice president of ASAE & The Center, reporting directly to Graham. Robertson has been with ASAE & The Center for eight years, most recently as senior vice president and managing director. In her new role, Robertson will be responsible for much of the day-to-day management of the organizations.
