ASAE Tech Show: New Dates, Call for Presentations
ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership has announced that its Technology Conference and Expo will move to a November/December time frame, and this year will be held December 13-15 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The conference, which had been scheduled in January or February since 2006, saw several years of bad weather, the worst in February 2010 when the event had to be canceled because of a record-breaking snowstorm. After the cancellation, ASAE & The Center polled exhibitors and attendees and, as a result, concluded that they would prefer a late fall meeting.
As in other years, the conference content will be based on a call for presentations. The Technology Conference and Expo Web site will begin accepting session ideas on May 17.
Because the February cancellation created a large gap between opportunities for technology education, ASAE and the Center has added a Business of Technology track at the 2010 Annual Meeting & Exposition, August 21–24, in Los Angeles. The event’s 21 technology sessions cover a range of topics from virtual board meetings and using video to communicate your association’s message, to social media strategies and delivering education via mobile devices.
