CIC Inducts 2007 Class Into Hall of Leaders
The Convention Industry Council’s 2007 Hall of Leaders Gala, held last week at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, “was among the best awards ceremonies I’ve ever been to,” says Terri Breining, CMP, CMM, president, Concepts Worldwide Inc., Carlsbad, Calif.
For more than 20 years, the CIC Hall of Leaders has honored outstanding leaders and innovators within the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry. The 2007 inductees included Christine Duffy, president and CEO, Maritz Travel; Steven Hacker, CAE, president, International Association of Exhibitions and Events; Robert Moore, executive vice president of sales and corporate accounts, Freeman; Edward Scannell, CSP, CMP, director, Center for Professional Development and Training; and Roger Tondeur, president, MCI Group Holding.
Breining, chairwoman of the CIC’s APEX (Accepted Practices Exchange) Initiative, credits Peggy Marilley, Precision Meetings & Events, for doing a stellar job. Management Options Inc., the CIC’s association management company, engaged Precision, a Washington, D.C.–based event and conference management company, to oversee the final planning stages of the gala.
The Hall of Leaders event was held during IAEE’s Expo! Expo! Annual Meeting and Exhibition at Mandalay Bay.
