IAEM Almost Doubles Membership in 2006
The International Association for Exhibition Management will have something to crow about at its Expo! Expo! Annual meeting and exhibititon next week: IAEM recently announced that it increased its membership this year from 3,333 individual members to 6,000. Sandy Angus, chairman of IAEM's Board of Directors, credits the organization's new trade association structure, which was implemented in January of this year, for the increase. Previously, IAEM was an individual-based organization.
"We are gratified that the change in the membership system results in nearly twice as many individuals now having the chance to benefit from IAEM," said IAEM President Steven Hacker, CAE, in a press release. "We can only become a stronger, more vital industry as a result of their involvement."
In addition to its annual meeting and trade show, IAEM offers the CEM Learning Program, access to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research data, publications, career placement, discussion groups, local chapters, and discounted industry products. For more information on IAEM, visit IAEM.org.
