The board of directors of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) decided to support New York City’s recovery efforts by moving its November meeting from Buenos Aires to the Big Apple. The 37-member board will meet November 16 to 19 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. The association also announced plans to move its March 2002 board meeting to Washington, D.C. to support that city’s hospitality community after the devastating attacks of September 11.

"With its recent decision to move both board meetings to the cities directly affected by the tragic events of September 11, ASAE has an opportunity to lead by example," said ASAE President and CEO Michael S. Olson, CAE. "We know our colleagues in this profession are concerned about our suppliers nationwide as they seek confirmation of previous commitments, bookings and the like. We ask the association community to honor those relationships wherever possible."
