Headliners Abound at Distinguished Speakers Series

Former President William Clinton will kick off the four-times annual Nation’s Capital Distinguished Speakers Series, sponsored by the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, on Oct. 9. Clinton is expected to wow the crowd at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., with an address entitled, "From Hope to the Highest Places."

Other planned events include television journalist Andrea Mitchell grilling Barbara Walters on Feb. 25, 2002; Former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and James Baker on international affairs, April 30, 2002; and reflections on his life and career by Academy Award-winning film star Sidney Poitier, who also has been a trailblazer on civil rights.

"All of our distinguished speakers are thought-provoking and sometimes controversial," says GWSAE President & CEO Susan Sarfati, CAE. "They offer a dimension of thinking that challenges all of us as we develop new ideas and initiatives in our professional lives. We look forward to a lively discussion with each of them."

For more information about the Nation’s Capital Distinguished Speakers Series, visit the GWSAE website at www.gwsae.org or call (202) 828-4654.
