Online Registration Companies Merge
Two major online meeting registration providers—San Francisco–based Certain Software Inc. and Brisbane, Australia–based Amlink Technologies announced a merger last week.
The company will operate as Certain Software, with Certain’s chairman and founder, Douglas E. Goldman, and president and CEO, James A. Pappas, continuing in their roles. Amlink CEO Trevor Gardiner will become Chief Operating Officer within Certain, responsible for the eventsPro and eventsInteractive products and current Amlink business units.
If approved by Amlink shareholders, the deal is expected to be effective by April 1, creating a company with five offices and 1,800 active customers. The merged Certain expects to process more than 6 million registrations in 2008.
Until now, Certain’s clients were from North America, while Amlink was strong in Australia and Europe (although it had a U.S. customer base through its 2005 acquisition of Peopleware, a Bellevue, Wash.–based meeting management software company).
