New On-The-Go Webinar Series From PCMA

The Professional Convention Management Association has introduced a new series of webinars targeted to busy meeting professionals. PCMA’s “On-the-Go” Webinar Series is a collection of 30-minute online educational offerings in three broad topics: legal, technology, and general information.

The sessions are designed to provide relevant information in a condensed and convenient format, PCMA officials say. Each session consists of a 30-minute lecture led by a topic expert, and a 15-minute question-and-answer period. There are eight webinars scheduled for 2008, including four legal sessions led by Tyra Hilliard, Esq.; two “info” session led by Nancy Wilson, CMP, principal, Meeting Strategies Worldwide, Portland, Ore.’ and two technology sessions led by James Spellos, president, Meeting U, a meetings technology company.

Selected topics reflect some of the highest ranked issues based on a combination of current member surveys and program evaluations. So far, three sessions have already been held, with the next coming up May 20, called The Paperless Meeting: Communicate, Market, and Sponsor Green, led by Wilson. On June 18, Hilliard will lead a webinar on Attrition: How to Minimize Your Risk, and on July 13 she will do a session called Surcharges, Rebates, and Fees. The last two session will be technology sessions led by Spellos on how to navigate Google. The first will be held September 24, the last on October 30.

The webinars are available at the introductory rate of $25 per session. Registration information is available online. Each webinar will also be archived on the PCMA Live Learning Center. Program participants can access archived content at no charge, while nonparticipants can access the content for a $25 fee.
