How the DMCs Stack Up
They manage events, they manage meetings, but somehow destination management companies don't manage to get much exposure. In its December 2004 issue, Special Events Magazine, CMI's sister publication, profiled 25 of the biggest DMCs. Here are a few (in no particular order) that made the list.
ACCESS DESTINATION SERVICES, Irvine, Calif. Re-created the Grand Prix in the parking lot of the Long Beach (Calif.) Convention Center with professional go-cart races. www.accessdmc.com
ALAN WAXLER GROUP, Las Vegas. Produced a James Bond party at the Bellagio Hotel for Citigroup. www.awaxgrp.com
DESTINATION CONCEPTS INC., Las Vegas. Has incorporated performances of Grammy-winning artists into events. www.destinationconcepts.com
PREMIER CONVENTION SERVICES, Orlando, Fla. Orchestrated a dine-around for 1,500 people. www.premier-dmc.com
USA HOSTS DESTINATION SERVICES, Las Vegas. Put together a “Hot, Hot, Hot” party at Bongos Cuban café in Miami. www.usahosts.com
