The elephant in the room

Medical Meetings' editor Tamar Hosansky asks a difficult question in her December editorial: How will U.S.-based organizations deal with the anti-Bush backlash from participants outside of the United States? Whatever your political beliefs, as President Bush's less-than-welcomed reception in Canada yesterday made clear, others feel very strongly against the current U.S. administration, and combined with difficult visa requirements and travel hassles, may just elect not to come to a U.S.-based activity.

Tamar explores this in her editorial, and provides some ways to deal with it. I thought it was a fascinating, if difficult, topic that no one else seems to want to talk about. Be curious to hear what you all think.
