Univ. of Fla. dean charged with wire fraud for meeting impropriety

From Gainsville.com:

former University of Florida associate dean has been charged in federal court

with wire fraud following an investigation into the possible embezzlement of

more than $120,000 in fees from a program he oversaw.

Timothy J. Van

Susteren, 56, who worked in the College of Medicine putting together seminars

and workshops for doctors, is believed to have asked vendors helping with the

programs to send fee checks meant for the university to his home, court records

show.

He has pleaded not guilty, according to the paper, and he resigned in January. From this account, it looks like he tried to pay the money back through a couple of anonymous donations to the CME program.
