Housecleaning at MPI Headquarters
In mid-February, heads rolled at Meeting Professionals International when the Dallas-based association's new CEO, Bruce MacMillan let go five senior staffers: Edjuan Bailey, vice president, marketing and brand management; Dawn Myers, director of research; Paula Nourse, director of marketing; Kelly Joslin, business analyst; and John Oliver, regional advertising director.
On the same day, MPI named a new executive vice president of its foundation, Katie Callahan-Giobbi, who will lead operations at the foundation as well as publication sales and partnership marketing activities. She joins MPI from LA Inc. The Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she was senior vice president of sales, service, and membership.
In other MPI news, Didier Scaillet was promoted from his position as director of European operations and global development to the new position of vice president of global development.
