IMEX Honors Green Suppliers
The GLOBE Foundation of Canada and DNC Parks and Resorts took top honors at the IMEX Environment Awards, held in Frankfurt, Germany, in April. Taking the gold award was the Globe Foundation's World Urban Forum 3, a 10,000-participant conference with delegates from 150 countries held at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The silver went to DNC Parks & Resorts for its sustainable practices during the 2006 Sierra Business Council conference, which included using local produce for 50 percent of the meals and reducing waste from the meeting by more than 70 percent thanks to recycling and composting.
