Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, Conn., recently opened the 34-story, 1,200-room Mohegan Sun Hotel. On the second floor is Elemis Spa, a 20,000-square-foot facility that offers a range of treatment rooms, a hair and nail salon, and a fitness center. The recently opened Hyatt Regency Jersey City, N.J., is on the Hudson River overlooking the area where the Twin Towers stood. The 350-room hotel offers high-speed Internet access in each room as well as in all 16 suites. The hotel's 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and conference facilities include the 5,000-square-foot Manhattan Ballroom, which offers a 360-degree view of the Manhattan skyline, and the 8,000-square-foot Hudson Ballroom, which also includes 1,750 square feet of pre-function space. The hotel is 12 miles from Newark International Airport.
The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta, recently completed a $30 million renovation. All 1,068 guest rooms and 40 suites were refurbished, as was the hotel lobby. The renovations included 13 new meeting rooms that total 20,000 square feet of space, bringing total function space to more than 75,000 square feet. Construction has begun on a $250 million expansion of the Hyatt on San Diego Bay, San Diego. A new 33-story, 750-room tower will feature 86,000 square feet of meeting space. Expected to be complete next summer, the tower will be connected to the existing 40-story, 875-room Hyatt. Once complete, the Hyatt will offer more than 120,000 square feet of meeting space and 1,625 guest room, including 90 suites. www.hyatt.com
