I had the good fortune to attend a conference in Banff, Alberta, this year, and was blown away. At the Fairmont Banff Springs, the mountains call to you from every vantage point. Even the resort's conference center, which features a 1,600-seat ballroom, offers magnificent views. Attendees won't want to miss the hotel's 18-hole Stanley Thompson championship course and nine-hole Tunnel course.
Another highlight of the trip was Lake Louise. On the way out of town, we spotted a moose serenely drinking from the Vermilion Lakes, and views of the much-photographed Castle Mountain drew comparisons to the Alps. We stuffed ourselves at the buffet offered by the Chateau Lake Louise, a charming 487-room Fairmont property that includes 17,000 square feet of newly renovated function space, soon to be expanded by the conference center that's under construction.
