At a glance: Half of BI’s revenues in 2008 came from creating group incentive travel programs, 40 percent
from meetings, and 10 percent from other sources. In reaction to the economic downturn, BI has introduced FirstTouch Virtual Meeting Center, a Web-based portal that provides an alternative to live meetings. It also launched AwardBound, an incentive travel rewards system. Program participants
can use it to track their progress and to research and book reward travel, while program sponsors
can monitor program activity.
