How We Chose Our Changemakers
In March, Corporate Meetings & Incentives launched the 20 Changemakers project. We reached out to the editors of Financial & Insurance Meetings and Medical Meetings (our sister MeetingsNet magazines), a focus group of high-profile meeting-planner readers, and the members of a specially created advisory board to develop a universe of nominees. We then worked with the advisory board to narrow the list to the top 20. Our 20 Changemakers list, which will be an annual project, does not include independent meeting planners or those based outside the United States and Canada. Many thanks to our board for their efforts.

Creating Green-Meetings Standards
An industrywide effort to produce achievable, voluntary standards for greener meetings and events is under way. The Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX), an initiative of the Convention Industry Council, is working with the Environmental Protection Agency and ASTM International Standards to create baseline guidelines that both meeting managers and the hospitality community can embrace.
