WHAT'S SPINNING ON YOUR CD PLAYER? “Love Lives On,” a CD my husband found for me. It's the New York City Gay Men's Chorus from around 1991. I'd had a tape of it and worn it out. It's a wonderful blend of classics including “Tuxedo Junction” and “Isn't It Romantic?” and other songs I love: “Another Hundred People” and “Old Friend.” It makes me smile, laugh, and cry and remember dear friends.

WHAT'S THE BEST BOOK YOU READ IN THE PAST YEAR? I have to have two: Daniel Pink's A Whole New Mind — it helps open one's mind to possibilities — and Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder, the history of philosophy in novel format. Fascinating and enlightening. Both open up lots of conversation.

WHO INSPIRES YOU? All those who, during the Holocaust, risked their lives to save Jews and others from being murdered. This quote makes me think of them: “I wondered why somebody didn't do something. Then I realized I am somebody.” — anonymous
