business travel slows
A survey by Robert Half Management Resources, Menlo Park, Calif., found that 48 percent of employees travel for work less frequently than they did five years ago. “Companies that scaled back travel allowances over the past several years continue to closely monitor expenses,” says Paul McDonald, executive director of RHMS. In its place, he says, “many firms are capitalizing on less costly communication channels, such as webcasts and videoconferences.”
