Crystal Memories
Glass painter Marj Kocher is used to “oohs” and “aahs” when she demonstrates her craft. The Auburn, Calif. — based artist paints on French crystal goblets, martini glasses, and champagne flutes — everything from birds of paradise and bougainvillea to incentive themes (such as a curvy purplish heart for a “Hearts a Jumpin'” theme for an insurance incentive to Cabo San Lucas). She can also personalize her glasses with the winners' names or the incentive theme name and the year.
Kocher recently demonstrated her craft to 50 incentive winners from General Motors at the Meadowood Resort in Napa Valley, Calif., leaving behind 100 of her hand-painted goblets; other clients have included Verizon Wireless, Lockheed Martin, and Georgia Pacific.
Kocher offers a unique guarantee: If the owner breaks the glass at any time, she will replace it at no cost. Quantity pricing starts at $28/glass for 50 or more, down to $24/glass for 300 to 500. www.gobletsbymarj.com
