Turning Technologies, the audience responses technology provider based in Youngstown, Ohio, has upgraded its capacity with the release of TurningPoint 2006. The system, which could previously hold 250 attendee responses, can now handle up to 1,000 people responding simultaneously.
Registration Co. Acquired
New York City — based eRSVP, a provider of Web-based event registration and payments processing, has acquired DataHive, a Manchester, N.H. — based provider of similar services. Both brands will continue to exist, with DataHive focusing on custom and consulting solutions.
Expense Management, Plus
Concur Technologies, the Redmond, Wash. — based corporate expense management company, broke into the meeting spend arena this spring with the launch of Cliqbook Meeting. The online tool aligns travel expenses of meeting attendees with company policy, manages registration and meeting planning, and automates communications with attendees, among other features. Concur, which acquired the Cliqbook airline booking tool in February when it bought Outtask Inc., will continue to integrate Cliqbook users with existing meeting technology providers, such as OnVantage and StarCite.
Certain Upgrade
San Francisco — based Certain Software released version 4.5 of its Register 123 product earlier this year. Among other features, clients got a new budget module that allows them to assign general ledger account numbers to their meeting expenses, track projected versus actual spending, and compile expense data across events. In late March, the company reported having increased its client base 119 percent over the previous year, including new customers such as Blue Shield of California, Hartford Life Insurance, the New York State Board of Law Examiners, and Stanford University.
