going overboard?
Royal Caribbean International will take the biggest-ship-ever title from Cunard's 2,620-passenger Queen Mary 2 when it launches the 3,600-passenger Freedom of the Seas in May, but the latest RCI buzz is drowning out that news. In February, the cruise line announced that it has put in an order for a $1.24 billion, 5,400-passenger vessel. The ship will be 1,180 feet long, surpassing both Freedom of the Seas (1,112 feet) and QM2 (1,132 feet). The project is called Genesis, and the giant is expected to be delivered in fall 2009.
