• The Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa has a new 18,000-square-foot clubhouse to compliment the Florida resort's championship 18-hole golf course, the Rookery at Marco. The Rookery is also home to the Faldo Golf School by Marriott. Resort amenities include The Spa at Marco, two outdoor pools, spa pool, whirlpool, beach basketball and volleyball, and beachside water sports.

• CHAMPIONSGATE GOLF CLUB in Orlando offers 9 at 9 and Sunset Swing nine-hole golf tournaments. The 9 at 9 includes breakfast and tips from pros. Sunset Swing offers the same setup, but with the ability to have lunch before or a casual dinner afterward. Groups can play on either the National or International course. ChampionsGate, which is just south of Walt Disney World, is the world headquarters of the David Leadbetter Golf Academy and the Omni Orlando Resort & Spa at ChampionsGate.

• PACIFIC PALMS CONFERENCE RESORT, Industry Hills, Calif., is undergoing a $17 million refurbishment. When completed later this year, the resort will have an additional 90,000 square feet of interior space and 130,000 square feet of updated outdoor space. Included in the update is a new spa, golf pro shop, and improvements to two 18-hole golf courses. The new 7,800-square-foot SPA AT PACIFIC PALMS will include eight treatment rooms.

• The all-inclusive Victoria Resort Golf & Beach, set amid the fairways of the Playa Dorada golf course, reopened in December as the VICTORIA GOLF & BEACH RESORT after a multimillion-dollar renovation. The 190-room property, on the Dominican Republic's Amber Coast, now features direct access to the Playa Dorada golf course. Victoria is the sister property of Playa Dorada's boutique beach resort, CASA COLONIAL BEACH & SPA. The Victoria Golf & Beach Resort is between the 10th and 18th holes of the Playa Dorada Golf Course, which was voted one of the top three golf courses in the Caribbean by Golf Digest in 2005.

• THE BILTMORE, Miami, has undergone a $40 million renovation, including the addition of a new spa. THE BILTMORE SPA is on the seventh floor of the hotel, with panoramic views of Coral Gables and the golf course. Spa services include Bamboo Lemongrass treatments, Chardonnay baths, and more. Other facility improvements include substantial work on the Donald Ross — designed golf course. The 276-room Biltmore has a 40,000-square-foot conference center, with 33 meeting rooms, three ballrooms, and a full-service business center.
