Hall of Leaders Grows by Six

Since 1985, the Convention Industry Council has been honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the meeting and convention industry by inducting them into its Hall of Leaders. This month, six names will be added to the list of industry pioneers:

  • WILLIAM BOYD, CITE, CMP, CMM, president/CEO, Sunbelt Motivation and Travel Inc. (Nominated by the Society of Incentive and Travel Executives);

  • ROBERT DALLMEYER, president, R.D. International (Nominated by the International Association for Exhibition Management);

  • VIRGINIA M. LOFFT, former vice president/publishing director, The Meetings Group magazines, Prism Business Media, (Nominated by Betsy Bair, Prism Business Media);

  • J. FRANK POE, director, City of Dallas Convention & Event Services Department (Nominated by the International Association of Assembly Managers);

  • MICKEY SCHAEFER, CAE, president, Mickey Schaefer & Associates, LLC (Nominated by the Professional Convention Management Association); and

  • CARL C. THOMPSON, executive director, Society of Government Meeting Professionals (Nominated by the Society of Government Meeting Professionals).

The Hall of Leaders Gala will be held August 20 in Boston, in conjunction with the American Society of Association Executives' Annual Meeting.
