On Location: Beverly Hilton
Hilton likes to refer to the $80 million renovation of the Beverly Hilton as a “transformation.” And indeed, this former Merv Griffin hotel, under new ownership since 2003, has been reborn as an ultra-luxe destination in the ultimate location: the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
The upgraded elegance is evident from the moment one steps into the spacious lobby, which gleams with a massive gold- and silver-leaf and mother-of-pearl mural by artist Nancy Lorenz. All 570 guest rooms (including 101 suites) have a tranquil, modern look and feature European linens, spa-like bathrooms, and large balconies with expansive views of the Hollywood Hills.
The renovated ballroom sparkles with Murano glass chandeliers imported from Italy. The more than 80,000 square feet of meeting space includes a self-contained executive meeting center. Scheduled to come online this spring are a new restaurant and lounge, and a fitness center and spa.
