The Marriott Hartford Downtown officially opened in late August. It's the cornerstone of a triumvirate β with the Connecticut Convention Center that opened in June and the re-opening of the Hilton Hartford in March β that has sparked a revitalization of downtown Hartford.
The 409-room hotel, which is adjacent to and serves as headquarters for the 540,000-square-foot Connecticut Convention Center, has 13,000 square feet of meeting space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Hartford, with 8,300 square feet of space.
Rooms are dubbed βThe Room that Works,β and are equipped with ergonomic chairs, dual-line phones, data ports, and no-glare lamps. The wireless keyboard even allows guests to send e-mail from their beds.
The Waterford Hotel Group owns and operates this hotel through a Marriott franchise, as well as the 392-room Hilton Hartford, and manages the state-owned convention center, the largest component of the 30-acre, mixed-use Adriaen's Landing project.
