Peeper to retire
A respected name in the meeting industry, Bill Peeper, has announced that he will retire as president of the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau on December 31. He has led the bureau from its inception in July 1984 with a staff of two to being the CVB with the second-highest budget in the country, with a staff of 150 people. Peeper was inducted into the Florida Tourism Hall of Fame by Visit Florida in 2002. The Rosen School of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida recently created the William C. Peeper Eminent Scholar Chair in Destination Marketing in his honor.
