Teambuilding Goes Hollywood
Who knows a company better than its employees? That's the thinking behind Lights, Camera, Interaction, a new teambuilding program offered by Beverly Hills, Calif. — based Nationwide Speakers and Entertainment Inc.
Led by facilitators with Holly-wood credentials, teams of 15 employees take on the various tasks required to make a commercial, including producer, director, writers, camera operators, gaffers, wardrobe, and actors. At the end of the half-day session, the commercials are screened to the group and the winning team wins an “Academy Award.” Recent clients include PepsiCo and Discover Card.
The program is designed to foster teamwork, leadership, creativity, and interaction, explains Marc Reede, president, Nationwide Speakers and Entertainment. “It shows the necessity for every member of a team to work together toward the success of the finished product,” he says. Above all, he says, it's fun. “You see people running through the lobby or out to the golf course with boom mics and cameras,” he says. “It's different from the typical teambuilding program.”
