Indira Sukirno has been promoted to executive director for the Jakarta (Indonesia) Convention Bureau. She had been deputy to the former consulting executive director.

The Greater Glasgow & Clyde Valley (Scotland) Tourist Board's convention bureau division has appointed Lesley Cou-par to the position of international sales manager. She previously headed the Scottish Office of Cordorde Services Ltd., a professional congress organizer (PCO).

The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau has named Jeff Bradley national sales manager, responsible for insurance groups that use the Moscone Center and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Bradley had been with the Greater Kansas City (MO) Convention and Visitors Bureau, where, as convention sales manager, he also handled the insurance market.

Rob Osterberg and Jennifer Guzzardi have joined the Palm Springs (CA) Desert Resorts Convention and Visitors Bureau as convention sales managers with responsibility for convention and incentive groups. Osterberg, who will handle the Midwest, previously served as senior sales manager for the Marriott's Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, CA. Guzzardi will book groups from northern California and other western states. She most recently served as assistant director of sales for the Los Angeles Airport Hilton & Towers.

The Australian Tourist Commission (ATC) in Los Angeles has announced three appointments. Fiona Anderson has been promoted to sales manager, meetings, conventions, and expositions. Anderson, who will be based in New York City, had been manager, incentive travel. Anna Case has been named to the newly created position of manager of sales, incentive travel. She previously worked with Queensland's Gold Coast Tourism Bureau as international sales manager. Andrea Moriarty has been promoted to manager, meetings, incentives, conventions, and expositions (MICE) market development. She had been manager of meetings and conventions. Both Case and Moriarty will be based in Los Angeles.

Kathleen Ratcliffe has been appointed executive director for the Jacksonville (FL) and the Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau. Immediate past president of Meeting Professionals International, Ratcliffe joins from the Baltimore Area Convention & Visitors Association, where she was vice president of sales and marketing.

Hotels and Travel Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Toronto, Ontario has named June Miell Locke national insurance sales manager. Locke, who will be based in Chicago, comes from the Chicago sales office of Renaissance Hotels and Resorts, where she was national sales manager.

Ann Levan, head of A. Levan, Inc. Resort Choices, is now a sales representative for meeting and incentive groups for Marriott Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star Beach Resorts in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Levan served as vice president of sales for Sugar Bay Plantation Resort in St. Thomas before founding A. Levan Inc. Resort Choices in 1993.

Brad Richert has joined Geneva Lakes Resorts in Fontana, WI, as sales manager. Richert, who will handle insurance groups, previously served as an account executive with New Resources Corporation in Waukesha, WI.

Cody Plott, a 22-year Hyatt veteran, has resigned from his position as vice president of sales for Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Chuck Floyd will assume Plott's position. Floyd most recently served as vice president and managing director for Hyatt's western region.

Charlie Frankel has been named regional director of sales and marketing for Marriott International in the Southeast region. Frankel, who will be based in Plantation, FL, had been director of marketing with the Marco Island (FL) Marriott Resort & Golf Club.

Vail Resorts in Vail, CO, announced two appointments. Bruce Mainzer has been named senior vice president of marketing. He joins from Carnival Airlines in Miami, where he was executive vice president of marketing and planning. Brian Smith has been named senior vice president of sales. Smith had served as interim senior vice president of sales and marketing, following the recent merger of Vail Resort and Ralston Resorts; at Ralston, he had been executive vice president of resort operations.

The Westin Resort Miami Beach, formerly Doral Beach The Ocean Resort, has named Leah Orr senior sales manager responsible for corporate sales in the Southeast, Midwest, and West Coast. She had been national sales manager.

Ellen Birrell has been promoted to director of sales at the Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort in Snowbird, UT. She had been national sales manager.

Murphy Appointed to Marriott Insurance Sales Post Michael Murphy recently was named director of insurance sales for Marriott Hotels & Resorts, which includes the Renaissance brand. Until Marriott's purchase of Renaissance earlier this year, Murphy had been the smaller chain's director of national accounts and had handled many insurance clients.

In naming Murphy, Marriott resurrects the position previously filled by Bob Berkman--and, Murphy says, reaffirms its commitment to the insurance industry. "The position is being reinstituted because of the addition of Renaissance. Marriott now has more properties to meet the needs of insurance clients," he notes.
