It's been said time and again, but it continues to ring true--Phoenix is an amazing place. Home to more five-star/five-diamond resorts than any other location, Phoenix is known as the golf capital of the world, the hub of the Southwest, and the destination of choice for more than 12 million travelers annually. The city, the sixth-largest in the United States, offers a multitude of cultural and recreational activities. Blending the rugged old West with the urban new West, the city provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy a full range of dining experiences, outstanding museums, art galleries, and performing arts, along with the region's ethnic and historic Western culture. The city's 300-plus annual days of sunshine inspire the casual lifestyle of this resort mecca, which is saddled between dramatic mountain ranges to the north, south, and east. Recent outstanding additions include the Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Museum of History, and Bank One Ballpark, the home of baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks.
