CHANGING FACES The Hilton Sandestin Beach & Golf Resort in Destin, Fla., has recently promoted Teresa A. Corbin to vice president of sales and marketing.

Michael McNease has been appointed regional director of sales for the Washington, D.C., office of Adam's Mark Hotels & Resorts. He will be responsible for sales within the mid-Atlantic region for all properties.

Stan Hershenow has been appointed director of incentive sales at La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif. He had been associate director of sales at the Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage.

Andy MacLellan has been named president and chief operating officer at Dolce International. He will take charge of operating activities, and will also spearhead the company's efforts to acquire more management contracts.

W. Scott Becque has joined New Castle Hotels as regional director of sales and marketing, based at the corporation's headquarters in Shelton, Conn. He was previously director of sales and marketing for Swissotel in Boston.

Jorge Bravo was recently named international sales director for Presidente Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts Mexico. He will be based in the corporation's Houston sales office.

Gary B. Stram has been promoted to director of sales for the Millennium Broadway hotel and its new companion tower, The Premier by Millennium Broadway.

Patricia Howarth has been promoted to director of sales and marketing at Bald Head Island Resort in Southport, N.C.

Heather Bucholz and Kathy Klutz have been named sales managers for the Fripp Company, owner and manager of Fripp Island Resort in South Carolina. Bucholz has group sales responsibilities for the Carolinas and the Northeast. Klutz assumes sales responsibilites for Georgia and the western U.S.

Brad Penrith has joined the Adam's Mark Orlando as director of sales. Penrith most recently was associate director of sales at the Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort in Haines City, Fla. Also joining Adam's Mark Orlando is Susan Nicolosi, who has taken on the role of sales manager, focusing on the Northeast corporate market. Nicolosi worked most recently at the Adam's Mark Philadelphia.

Arlene Foggo was recently named executive meetings manager at Marriott's Harbor Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He previously worked at Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort in Bermuda.

Tim Gustafson has been named director of sales for the Wyndham Chicago, scheduled to open this spring. Gustafson was previously director of sales for the Wyndham Northwest Chicago in Itasca, Ill. Renee LaBelle has been appointed associate director of sales at the hotel. She was formerly associate director of sales for the Omni Chicago Hotel.

Maria Goldberg has been named senior sales manager for Seattle's Kimpton Hotels: The Alexis Hotel, Hotel Monaco, and Hotel Vintage Park. She will be responsible for group business for the Northeastern U.S. Prior to joining Kimpton, she was a sales manager at Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie, Wash.

Michael Islava has been appointed director of sales and marketing for The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage (Calif.). Islava has been with Ritz-Carlton properties for 11 years, most recently at The Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua, Hawaii, where he was sales director.

Candace Bengtson has been promoted to director of group sales for the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Claudia Romero was recently appointed sales director for Presidente Inter-Continental Cancun. Romero was previously director of sales at the Presidente Inter-Continental in Puerto Vallarta. l

GOING PLACES The 428-room Sheraton El Conquistador Resort and Country Club in Tucson is adding 25,000 square feet of meeting and service areas to nearly double its total meeting space. The expansion will be completed by March 2000.

International Conference Resorts recently completed a $10 million renovation to the 271-room Hastings International Conference Center in Hartford, Conn. Developed as a high-tech center, Hastings offers more than 55,000 square feet meeting space including three amphitheaters and teleconferencing capability in selected meeting rooms.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened the Wyndham Chicago, a 417-room hotel on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Each room features high-speed Internet access through the hotel's own server. The hotel offers 15,000 square feet of meeting space including two ballrooms and two Executive Boardrooms.
