A new scholarship program for meeting planners and hospitality industry professionals will give away up to $10,000 in 2004 to fund continuing education. The Maralyn Levinson Eisenstodt Scholarship Fund, named in honor of the late mother of Joan Eisenstodt, a Washington, D.C.-based independent meeting planner, was founded in late October by Joan Eisenstodt; Ellen Toups, Outsources; William F. Reed, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts; Julie Babnis, World Bank Group; Tyra W. Hilliard, George Washington University; Kenneth Esthus, Marketing General Inc.; Susan Grimes, Eisenstodt Associates; and Bob Witeck, Witeck Combs Communications Inc.
