* AMMC Forms Industry Council The Alliance of Meeting Management Consultants (AMMC) recently formed an Advisory Council to foster communication between suppliers and AMMC members (independent meeting managers). Named to the council: Nunzio Cernero, director, Center for Training and Development, Morris County Community College, Trenton, NJ; John Foster, attorney- at-law, Atlanta; Kay Heder, CST, director of national corporate meeting sales, ITT Sheraton North America, New York; Scott E. Hermes, CMP, director of marketing, Hyatt Regency, San Diego; and Don Vaughn, executive vice president, The Freeman Companies, Dallas.

* Maritz Creates Meetings Group To improve its service to corporate clients, Maritz Travel has created a new meetings division. The St. Louis based company's 40-person Meetings and Business Development arm is a separate unit under Maritz Performance Improvement.
