When it comes to incentive gifts for the fall, think electronics. “The latest techno wonder is always hot,” says Karen Renk, executive director of the Incentive Marketing Association in Naperville, Ill. “I hear that plasma- screen TVs for high-end programs are in demand. Also, MP3 players are really trendy.”

Michelle Smith, vice president of strategic sales at Bravanta in San Francisco, reports high demand for digital cameras, DVD players, CD players, and flat-screen TVs. “Moving forward, developments in TV technology (DLP, HDTV, plasma, etc.) will mean more demand as prices fall. There is still significant growth in DVD because a majority of households have not converted from VHS technology,” she says. She also expects MP3 players to “pop in the next six to 12 months.”

What's the next hot incentive merchandise? “Anything digital,” says Anne Klein, marketing manager at USMotivation in Atlanta, “from digital cameras to digital video cameras and portable DVD players.”
